With Snoozy's twins finally reunited, Eve and her companions return to the haunted house, where the little witch resumes her consultation service in her quest for cash. The crack on Snoozy's face still weighs on Eve's mind, but a visit from Rutile and her grandpa provides a welcome distraction.

After an incident involving Rutile and some giant birds, the two dwarves take their leave—but not before giving Eve a generous "tip." The tracks of what might be a dragon have been found in the dwarves' communal mine—could they belong to another of Snoozy's kids? Determined to find out, Eve and her friends embark on yet another adventure, hoping to find a new connection to add to the little witch's growing list.
