In the far future, a seed ship from a dying Earth lands on an alien planet completely covered by towering trees and inhabited by intelligent, six-legged wolves. Katan, an aging, glowjuice-addicted wolf, is sent to observe the ship.

Seven humans emerge, triggering a deadly confrontation. Ricky and Marta, two young soldiers and lovers, develop an unusual relationship with Katan and must undertake a near-impossible task vital to the survival of both species.
