The Book of Second Corinthians was written ca. AD 57, from Macedonia, in the third year of Paul's third missionary journey (AD 54–58). The book is a response to a report from Titus on the Corinthians' response to Paul's first letter. Paul commended them for what they had corrected, but there were more problems in the church. Much of the letter concerns false apostles and false teachers opposing Paul and bringing Greek philosophy into the church.

Second Corinthians is essentially Paul's defense of his apostolic authority to correct doctrinal and practical issues affecting the church. This commentary on 2 Corinthians is a Bible study, an explanation of the meaning (interpretation) and significance (application) of the biblical text. This work is intended to serve as a guide for others wanting to study the book, understand its meaning, and how that meaning may be applied to their life and their local church. Come and study the Scripture with me.
