Detective Rage and Sergeant Jones after their shooting date, skip the watering hole and go rock climbing. First they need to stop at Rage's home for their gear, and she is driving. They find a delivery truck in her driveway, but she is not expecting anything.
Will they get out of her house before the package blows? They take her to the hospital after the explosion and she is wondering about watching submarine races as Jones drives her to Yakima for safety.
Why is the Navy so uptight about a radio wave transmission, when it is carrying no data? Both the FBI and HLS are soon uptight, and how is this related to the bomb at Rage's home?
With all this swirling around, what is Inspector Strong doing about all of this? The FBI has been tracking the radio waves for several reasons as it relates to criminal activity in many cities. They just cannot get a handle on it before it appears to move to another city. They only find out about it after they move.
The Madam in her penthouse takes an interest because someone tried to blow up Detective Rage. She taps Colonel Hill and she starts to look for unusual radio waves, the same as the Navy and the FBI. She finds a source of the waves, and in fact the number seven source as it started and stopped after 38 seconds near Daton, Ohio.
How could any of this relate back to the arrack on Detective Rage? It is found that the bomb may not have meant to be lethal. In which case, all the Inspector's effort being diverted only to Detective Rage's attack has been in error.
Then the Madam finds seven antennas throughout the Mid-Atlantic states but not their exact location which are driving the Navy and the Joint Chiefs to go from Defcon 5 to Defcon 4. With talk of Defcon 3.
Then a simple compass points to a spot in West Virginia as the center point of all the antennas. And who has kin there? No one other than Sergeant Jones, who makes a call to Granny Jones about shirt tail kin in West Virginia.
Is the attack on Detective Rage a diversion? Are the Navy's Nukes in danger of losing all communication with their commanders?
Is the Madam somehow tied up in this case? How does the FBI and HLS fit it this tangled web?
