The third book in the Pariser Platz Irregulars begins in Berlin, where Fritz Junge, one of the executive members of the organization, is giving a lecture on the differences between autocracy and democracy. Much to the enjoyment of the University students, the Irregulars are anxious, because it's after such lectures that they often receive their assignment orders. True to expectation their new assignment is to shore up the border between Ukraine and Poland and eliminate the human trafficking going on there. Trubel Fink struggles with this assignment because she would rather be in Ukraine finding out what happened to her mother and two sisters that had been in Bucha when the Russians invaded.

After a successful mission in Medyka, they make their way into Ukraine where they soon discover that Trubel's mother had been killed and her two sisters kidnapped by a shadowy organization operated by Joseph Adler.

Oksana and Yulia, Trubel's sisters, are co-opted to become assassin's in Alder's organization. In a plot to eliminated two politicians, one in Rome and the other in Paris, Trubel's sisters are dispatched. In a dash across Europe, Trubel and Marley, Otto, Nastya and Ameera try to intercept the two Melnyk sisters before it's too late.

Unfortunately, the Irregulars are not entirely successful and have to pay the price with casualties.
