The sun warms the meadow. Joshaz and Miscaz cast their eyes furtively about, searching for the danger that might appear at any moment. They are about to send their nation's most prized possession away, into hiding from the corrupt Custodian that has usurped the power of the council, and has his eyes set upon the entire realm.

They await the third person of the Sacred Triumvirate to appear with her Token. With the three Tokens combined, they must perform the Sending ritual before they are discovered. Mishaz arrives running in haste through a travel portal. The Sending ritual is almost finished as the corrupt Custodian and his minions arrive. He charges forward, sword extended to pierce the Triumvirate, but finding only air. He managed, however, to interrupt the Sending ritual and the Tokens arrived at a time and place not intended.

Two women in their mid-thirties, take a vacation volunteering their time at an excavation project in Greece. It sounds like the perfect venue for two adventuring spirits. Dig a little, play a little, in the Greek sunshine. They are relegated to carting artifacts to the technicians table for inspection and cleaning. To their surprise one dirt-encrusted object responds when they both reach to pick it up. It had not responded to anyone else!

For reasons they later discover, they feel compelled to steal the artifact, and hide it in their backpack. After their two-week commitment, they find a hotel in Athens, where they gently clean the object. They marvel at its beauty and antiquity. They are unsure as to what they should do, that is, until they continue their vacation in Athens.

In Rome, Marcus is enjoying his Americano when a young lady in her mid-thirties stops and asks for directions to the Pantheon. He is intrigued by this lovely woman who introduces herself as Susan. He invites her to sit and have a coffee with him. One thing leads to another, and they spend the day together touring Rome.

The next morning Susan calls him, and would he be interested in driving her and her friend Barb, to a small village about two hours west of Rome. They will pay for the trip. Why not he thinks. If her friend is as nice looking as she is, it will be a pleasant break from his work schedule. And who knows what might happen.
Things get very weird in a very short amount of time. Marcus soon realizes that he's in way over his head. He also discovers that they have a briefcase which hums when he comes close to it. He forces the girls to reveal the contents, and his life is forever changed.

As the adventure unfolds, they find themselves beset by a dark entity that wants the objects they've found. It becomes their nemesis as they attempt to learn the ritual to send the Tokens home. If the darkness can corrupt the Tokens, then it could return from the void and dominate both worlds. A tale of adventure, love, magic, duplicity and triumph of good.
