DJ Jackson was a self-described lone cowpoke. He lent himself such a description because he preferred to work in solitude although he had never tended cattle. Truthfully he had not tended anything other than himself and did that poorly. DJ's initials, much like himself, stood for nothing. The D nor the J were abbreviations for any name – they were (together) his literal name. That is what he heard his mother tell the head master at the orphanage whenever she dropped him off.
