The story presents the reader with some episodes from the life of the forefather Abraham, the main character of the narrative. He acts as one of the mentors of the people of the Promised Land. Other characters in the story are Abraham's wives Sarah and Hagar, his father Terach, son Yitzchak, nephew Lot, slave Elieser and some others. Abraham proves the unicity of God and the great importance of union with Him for the Jewish people. Abraham has opponents who oppose him and argue with him. The author used texts from the Bible and folklore legends.
