In a quiet and quaint little town in the Philippines called Gintongbayan,

everything looks normal on the surface, but beneath it, lies another

world hidden from general view: Batala. It is an enchanted realm

where fantastic creatures reside, and magic is an everyday occurrence.

Yet it is locked in constant peril due to an eternal war fought by

two warring factions: Bakunawa, the Serpent Goddess, leads

one side, and the other, the black dwarf known as Axe-Grinder.

In the middle of all this, a human child named Pandora is born under

strange circumstances in Gintongbayan. Each faction wants her by

their side due to her burgeoning but underdeveloped powers, and

with the help of her grandmother, Lola Sabrina, she will learn to

hone all of them. Will she use them to save everyone or destroy

everything she holds dear?
