The First Council of Caesaraugusta, held on October 4, addressed critical issues concerning the behavior of women, fasting, the Eucharist, church attendance, and the treatment of clergy. It mandated separation of faithful women from foreign men, prohibited fasting on Sundays, and established anathemas for non-compliance. The Second Council, convened during King Recaredu's reign, focused on the status of presbyters converting from Arianism, allowing them to retain their positions if they maintained a chaste life. It also mandated testing relics associated with Arianism and their segregation from the Catholic Church if found hidden.
