Wanting to want to be holy is a never-ending road with ups and downs, hills and ravines, snow and scorching heat.
No reliable map, just endless cravings mental confusion and doubt at every turn of the road.
Where to go now to the right or the left?
Longing to get to a higher destination but knowing our vehicle will not be able to reach it.
Desires of the flesh can never grow into a spirit.
The carnal life must be cut out and crucified.
It is either the path of the flesh or the path to the spirit.
Submitting to the will of our world through the feast of the senses or to the will of God through a firm spiritual Faith.
We are bound to be either world phantoms or real beings.
And in the meantime, our world is destroying itself.
A new spirit-nature is revealed to humankind as a real possibility in this life but only if we abide in the sacrifice of our cross which requires total obedience to the will of our heavenly Father.
This is what it means to be holy.
