On Monday morning around 10.30am, John received a crackling message through his radio. Although the signal was weak, he managed to decipher the words being spoken. One of the helicopters had discovered a person crawling on their hands and knees through the snow. When they reached her, she mustered the strength to whisper a few words before collapsing from exhaustion. The mountains that John's team had been searching were the Cairngorms.
