Meirdoo, a member of a peaceful race known as the Barukh, lives on a faraway moon. He has just matured into an adult of the species and his life is now dedicated to finding a mate. His whole life is about to change due to the sharp painful sting on his neck while grazing; a sting that renders him unconscious. Meirdoo will awaken on a strange, alien world.
