At the little hotel in Glen Shira gather the professional guides and the dedicated

climbers—among them Melinda Pink, JP, the amateur detective. From the outset it's a dangerously fragile gathering. One of the guides—a womaniser—is growing careless. Another guide hardly bothers to conceal her affair with her client, although his wife is insanely jealous. Miss Pink has two murders to cope with, each of them ingeniously camouflaged; and to reach the solution takes all her understanding of how people tick.
