The Story of Carthage by Alfred J. Church is a historical account of the ancient city of Carthage, which was a major power in the Mediterranean from its founding until its destruction by Rome in 146 BCE. It explores key events and figures, including Hannibal Barca, one of history's most renowned military leaders, and the dramatic conflicts between Carthage and Rome during the Punic Wars.

Alfred John Church (1829-1912) was a British classical scholar and writer. He was primarily known for his translations of ancient Greek and Roman literature, making these classical texts accessible to English-speaking audiences. In addition to his translations, Church also authored original works on history, mythology, and literature.
