London lawyer Hugo is successful, sharp-tempered, and scornful of Christmas frivolities—but also deeply miserable. He'd been dating his adorable, ultra-efficient PA, Davy, and discovering a rare, precious romantic spark—until a heated argument ended things. Now, he's braving the holiday season alone. And badly.

Davy, nursing his own broken heart, misses the wit and unexpected charm buried under Hugo's grouchy exterior. Christmas with Hugo had sounded perfect—especially if he'd convinced his boss to string up some decorations!—but, determined to try moving on, he joins the dating app HuntsMan.

But each disastrous date is worse than the last. What wandering eyes they have, what selective hearing they have—and is one of them actually trying to sniff him? When the final bad date with the sharp, shiny teeth turns out to be way too predatory for comfort, Davy realises how much he really needs Hugo.
