The book is a work of fiction about hunting and the outdoors for kids, teens and young adults that's set in the hills and valleys of the Whitewater Wildlife Management Area in southeastern Minnesota. Specifically, the book follows the adventures of 14-year-old protagonist Shawn Buckner as he embarks on a fictional quest for his first wild turkey with a bow, and while I'm obviously biased, I believe the book's a fast-moving page-turner full of hunting action and subtle undertones of responsible hunting ethics and morals for kids of all ages.
