813 is a mystery novel by French author Maurice Leblanc, which was first published in 1910. It is the fourth book in the Arsène Lupin series. When South African diamond dealer, Mr. Rudolf Kesselbach is found dead in a hotel, Lupin is a suspect due to the fact that his card is found pinned on the deceased. After two more murders in the same hotel, our trusty detective decides to head the investigation to clear his name. The mystery he embarks upon involves finding a package of letters, locating a clock on which the number 813 has significance, as well as causing a reigning emperor to make several journeys incognito.
