This book contains copies of all the Returns of Naturalizations of foreign Protestants sent from the Colonies to the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations during the period 1740 to 1772. It covers approximately 6,500 persons who were naturalized. These Returns are from the colonies of South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania, along with some from Jamaica in the West Indies. The Returns from Pennsylvania making up the bulk of these persons within. The entries generally include name, religion, town and county of residence, and date of naturalization.
