Humans are wired to survive. The human body is a master compensator. The insides contain vital blood supplies, neural connections and organise and play physical, emotional and psychological roles in maintaining our balance of being. This is our soft frame. The hard frame consists of muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones and joints. Our hard frame is set up to protect our soft frame.

Any dysfunction related to internal compression is therefore likely to result in altered muscular recruitment to minimise compression on our internal structures. This recruitment presents itself initially as a functional compensation (usually an 'itis') and if not corrected, a structural compensation (or 'osis'). Leading to further pain and dis-ease.
