This essay sheds light on what is the minimum wage, demystifies the reasons why most companies pay the minimum wage to their employees for them working their employee shifts, and expounds upon the problems with employees receiving the minimum wage for them working their employee shifts. Succinctly stated, the minimum wage is an infinitesimal hourly wage that is in the form of the absolute lowest amount of hourly remuneration that a real private sector employer is expected to furnish to his real private sector employees for working their employee shifts. Working a real private sector employee job based on voluntary demand to receive a minimum wage from a real private sector employer is almost tantamount to working a real private sector job for free. This is because the minimum wage is an infinitesimal hourly wage that provides a person who works a real private sector job based on voluntary demand with a negligible amount of fiat currency. When a person who works a real private sector employee job based on voluntary demand receives a negligible amount of fiat currency in the form of the minimum wage from his employer's company, he then concomitantly gains a negligible amount of purchasing power until he has depleted his paucity of fiat currency. Furthermore, when a person who real private sector employee job based on voluntary demand receives a negligible amount of fiat currency in the form of the minimum wage from his employer's company, he then also lacks the requisite amount of fiat currency to be able to afford to attain an extremely low standard of living. As of November of 2024, the total cost to attain an extremely low standard of living can be sizeable.
