The Island of Dr. Moreau is a science fiction novel by British writer H.G. Wells. The book tells the story of Edward Prendick, who finds himself on a mysterious island after a shipwreck. Here he meets Dr. Moreau, a brilliant but ruthless scientist who conducts terrible experiments turning animals into human-like creatures. Moreau creates hybrids of humans and animals, violating the laws of nature and morality. The novel raises questions about the responsibility of a scientist and the boundaries of science. "Dr. Moreau's Island" is not only a fascinating story, but also a philosophical parable about the consequences of human ambition and permissiveness. The work is presented in English without adaptations and abbreviations.
