Animals have a loving instinct of protecting others! One Fine Dog (Max) is a heartwarming true story and mystery of Rescuing a Lopsided Dog (Bojo). This dachshund was lost in the West Texas country with predators such as rattlesnakes, coyotes, and wild pigs. The author, Joyce Bomar Smith, reveals the emotional stress of losing a pet and the determination of one fine dog to search all night to find his little friend. The story also encourages the reader to never give up even if there is a possibility of a sad ending, but this story is enlightening by the owner resuscitating the unconscious dog. Blowing into his nostrils and pressing slowly on the chest caused the little mischievous dog to breathe again. Max was the hero, and being a family with Lil Ranch Critters, it was just one way to show his love for others. (Joyce).
