Frederick received an enigmatic communication and subsequently became embroiled in the crisis of the City of Illusions. He was introduced to Ellis and Isabelle Everett, who informed him that he needed to locate the five Illusive Gems in order to save the city. They conducted an exhaustive search for the gems in a number of locations, including the clock tower, the mysterious garden, the ancient castle, the underground maze and other sites. During this period, they faced a number of challenges, including encounters with various monsters and dangers, as well as injuries sustained on multiple occasions. However, they demonstrated resilience and fortitude, and were also able to call upon the assistance of enigmatic entities or individuals at pivotal junctures. For instance, in the clock tower, they received a clue from the enigmatic old man regarding the location of the gems. He recuperated from his injuries with the assistance of the holy spring. Furthermore, he encountered the guardian in the underground maze and gained insight into the interconnection between the gems. To date, four gems have been located. While continuing to search for the last gem in the library of the abandoned magic academy, he was confronted by an attack from a black-robed phantom. Despite the reappearance of the mysterious old man to provide assistance, the ultimate objective remains unattained.
