Monsters! Pony thing with a dozen legs and bulbous head - blob thing with loads of tentacles -
snake like thing with dozens of arms - huge dog/bear with 2 heads, 7 eyes and massive claws/teeth.
But they were just frightened children from a land of vegetarian monsters. They were lost and didn't know how to get home. So The Dinner Time Gang helped them and stepped into a land with tree-sized mushrooms and giant fruits and vegetables.
Then the monsters had to help the gang get home themselves which meant fighting with even more monsters.
