Breastfeeding is not just a biological process; it is a cultural practice, a public health imperative and a human right. The evidence overwhelmingly supports the benefits of breastfeeding for both infants and mothers, including reduced risk of infectious diseases, improved cognitive development and long-term health advantages. However, despite its importance, breastfeeding rates remain suboptimal in many parts of the world, influenced by a myriad of factors including societal norms, workplace policies and lack of support systems.
