Tired of the constant upheaval in her life in China, Zhao Wei decides it's time for a change and allows her former neighbor to set her up with her nephew, who owns a convenience store in Los Angeles.

At first, everything seems perfect. She has a good husband and amazing in-laws, creating the sense of family she's always dreamed of.

But not everything is as it seems.

Eventually, Wei comes to the realization that her husband sees her more as an employee than as a wife, leaving her torn. He may not love her, but he's improved her life in so many ways. Can she find the strength to leave him, or will her sense of loyalty bind her to him forever?
