The Holmes family of four is happily enjoying life on the farm in the small town of Swedes Ville, Michigan. Dale and Mary are raising their two sons, Johnny, the eldest, and Eddie, the youngest, teaching their boys the joy of living through loving care of farm animals. Mary keeps up with all the boys' activities at school, while Dale works as a DNR officer covering both State and National Forest areas that surround Swedes Ville and works to keep the farm in prime real estate shape.

Life is as normal as any other contented family of four until a horrendous, unbelievable event occurs that shakes the very foundation oft he Holmes family.
