I sit on the stair, dumbfounded at what I am hearing from my own mother's mouth. That she hates me enough to sell me off to some wolf shifter in another pack clear across the country. And her only reason for hating me, is because to her I am nothing more than human. But that begs the question...

What would she do to me if she knew I wasn't a normal human?
How much danger would I be in, if she knew that I'm a shifter and one the world has only seen a handful of over the last century? Then what?
