Shinobu receives a photo of a girl who highly resembles his sister, Megumi. The girl is allegedly a young genius mage who developed her own rune system—which the players of the world can't see as anything other than Japanese characters. Vowing to follow any lead he can, Shinobu begins to search for the mysterious girl, who is said to be in hiding. He and his followers make their way to Abrasil, the home of his foster father Imabayashi's guild, the Lions of Patriotism. There, they plot to track down the guild's illegal activities in order to contact them in a race against time to track down the young girl before the Imabayashi does.
