It is 1393 in East Sussex, England. John, Bodiam Castle's master cook, sits on a platform being pulled across the moat in an attempt to rescue the black cat spotted in the nearby village.

Cats were believed to be witch familiars and agents of the devil. A bounty has resulted in their extermination. Then came the rats, the famine, and the plague-curse of the ravenous dead.

They are wrong about the cats. They need them.

John is out of his depth. He knows food, not fighting. He is tired. He is afraid. Most of all, he is hungry.

Ravenous is a historical fiction and horror novella set in 14th-century Bodiam, England. It is a medieval zombie tale. Story situations will hopefully make readers frequently uncomfortable and unsettled. There is violence and graphic descriptions.
