Betrayal struck his life; everyone he trusted was disloyal to him. Friends, relatives, and lovers all treated him unfairly. He began to see everyone in his hometown the same way. No one was as loyal as he thought, even though he never deceived anyone.
Jara Sanja, a young man from Juba, decided to go on a journey to find better people, unlike those in his homeland. This decision led him on a long and challenging journey.
Every place he visited turned out to be far worse than Juba. He encountered various evildoers in human form and witnessed strange ways of living. He nearly lost his life on the trip, living in a terrible village with no way to escape.
Later, he realized that Juba was the best place, only when he found himself in a difficult moment. The world taught Jara harsh lessons.
The Lonely Tiger is a short story that explains how stubbornness can be dangerous, and that not every hardship a person faces is the worst. The story uses an imaginary setting to convey this message to the community.
"Every man is a lonely tiger in the cage of human life. Living the way the world is, is better than searching for something better. A tiger in a cage gets what it deserves, not what it wants."
— Hassan Omar Mambosasa
