Dario Fo (1926-2016), winner of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature, was one of the most famous and controversial personalities of the Italian cultural landscape. The essays gathered in this volume analyze how he and Franca Rame (1929-2013) worked together in shaping innovative scenic-performative models on and for the Italian stage that strongly drew on medieval and early modern traditions, creating a new form of political theater.
