Christmas was just a week away, and her small town was already bursting with holiday cheer. Twinkling lights adorned every lamppost, casting a magical glow on the snow-dusted streets. Shops displayed festive decorations in their windows, enticing passersby with promises of holiday treats and treasures.

Lily hummed along to the cheerful Christmas carols playing softly on the radio as she carefully hung a silver star on the lowest branch of their Christmas tree. Her faithful beagle, Charlie, sat patiently beside her, his tail thumping a happy rhythm against the hardwood floor.
