Reverend Dan Stalker was once a notorious gunman, but he soon gave up his life of crime and settled down and got married. Dan and his new bride, Becky, decided to leave Indiana and go West.

Once they reached their final destination – Cross Creek, Colorado, things are not as they seem, where Reverend Stalker wants to build a church, but on the very day of his arrival, a gang of outlaws carries out a raid on the bank, and the people of Cross Creek, who are suspicious of the new reverend, and immediately blame him for the robbery.
