The story of young Siddhartha is well known. This book retells this famous wisdom story by giving young Siddhartha a sister, Samantha, who is his equal. Together they play in the palace gardens and together they become curious about the world beyond the garden gates. As siblings they travel out into the world, where they discover joy and sorrow and learn how to meditate and to help and inspire others. Siddhartha is no longer alone. Mediation and wisdom are as much a part of the young boy's life as well as the young girl's. The reinvention of this touching wisdom story has been inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh's thought, that the Buddha of tomorrow will be many. This story is told in verse and is accompanied by colorful collages inspired by the paper cut-outs of Henry Matisse. This book is intended for all ages, especially the ages three to six and for all those young at heart. Gabrielle von Bernstorff-Nahat is an artist, poet and architect. She works with children. She has written several children's stories for her family. This book is her first published story for children. For more go to her website www.gevebe.com
