Guinea-Biissau was the second Portuguese colony in Africa to rebel against Lisbon and the Portuguese Air Force deployed US-supplied Sabres to take on the PAIGC but these planes had to be withdrawn and were replaced with Fiat G 91 jet bombers. The ancient but reliable T6 was aso used as well as Dornier Do-27 STOL planes and Alouette 3 choppers as gunships and troop transporters.
