After the Lockdowns and the doorstep clapping came to an end, carers, warehouse work, medical and mental health professionals came together with Writing on the Wall to share their experiences of working on the frontline during the pandemic.

Behind the Mask is a collection of stories, poetry, and memoir that explores and exposes the reality for the many who put themselves at risk to work through the pandemic to keep us fed, healthy, safe, educated and more. This anthology, commissioned by Culture Liverpool, is a powerful personal record and celebration of those who put themselves at risk to keep us moving when the world stood still.
