The book provides a definitive solution to a global and general problem that affects all people irrespective of their nationality, societal identity, and other micro identities. The problem is that we still lack a comprehensive, accurate, and operational concept of law. This problem is often overlooked, leading to the misuse of numerous rules presented as laws without truly understanding what law is. This oversight allows political entities to manufacture and apply law-like rules, resulting in atrocities such as slavery, the Holocaust, structural racism, and minority oppression.
To prevent such abuses, the book proposes that the only solution is to conceptualise the law as it exactly is, presenting the concept of 'freejon's law'. This law is guided by the General and Shared Commitment of the Evaluative-Self (GSEC), distinguishing it from other interpersonal commitments dictated by social, political, or religious plots. The evaluative-self, an unbiased observer free from micro-identities, underpins this legal commitment.
The book distinguishes legal morality from other types, noting its unique dual nature—both internal and external. This dual nature justifies the outward obligations imposed by legal morality, clarifying the true authority of law, which does not derive from sovereign entities or political bodies but from the evaluative-self's commitment. The book not only addresses longstanding confusions about law but also reveals the potential of freejon's law to resolve these issues, presenting a universally verifiable sense of law that resonates with all free humans.
