This is
A celebration of silly dreams and growth,
Of falling into the dark and getting up again,
Bruised but wiser, crackled like a kintsugi;
That resilience makes me a moonstone on Earth.
A celebration of Art, of uniqueness, of love and loss,
Of what it truly means to be a young human.
Meisha Jean is a young creative who enjoys exploring the full spectrum of human experience through her poems and music, all inspired by the one and only Lana Del Rey. Melancholy, theatrical atmosphere and raw emotion may summarize her unique art style.
In this poetry book, she starts with a first part dedicated to being a lustrous artistic portfolio, painting effectively her own world... before diving gradually into intimacy and wisdom in the three next parts. The end of the book is reserved for the "French section", a collection of poems in her mother tongue, divided into two parts: one that paints her relationship to nature and the world around her, the other for fleeting feelings that have haunted her years.
A raw piece of soul
Scratched on the surface
Creamy on the inside.
Carefully designed
To fit into your hands
To slip into your mind.
A raw piece of soul
Wholeheartedly decorated
To aim in the mile of your heart.
A raw piece of soul
Poignant, honest, dusty, sometimes wistful
Engraved deep into the paper.
All you need to do is revel in it, prudently
I wouldn't dare to let you be consumed by the fire of poetry so quickly.
Breathing in and relishing each word, ablaze... breathing out
Their emotional essence, their dainty lesson.
It is now your turn to extract the very substance in the bones of my writing... and invite it to enchant your life.
