Set in late 19th-century Gran Canaria, "Death to the Bourbon" follows Delfín, a young man born into poverty who refuses to accept the harsh social conditions that define his life. As he matures, Delfín transitions from a street shoeshiner to a skilled ship carpenter, all while cultivating revolutionary ideals inspired by the works of Marx, Engels, Bakunin, and Proudhon.

When news of King Alfonso XIII's visit to Gran Canaria reaches him, Delfín becomes consumed by a radical plan: to assassinate the monarch as a statement against the oppressive Spanish monarchy and the exploitation of the working class. Delfín meticulously prepares for the attack, constructing a bomb and planning to strike during the King's arrival by sea.
