Axelander is lost. He is broken. He wanders. He speaks to things that don't talk back. The voices in his head shout and call. They are familiar, but he can't grasp them and they are gone, like a breeze through the grasses.

The little girls who come to him, with bandaged heads, are leading him somewhere, he does not know. But they are a force that can't be denied, so he goes where they lead, to their home.
