Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit opposite a vulnerable person who expects you to be able to help? As a psychotherapist (counselor), this is something I have dealt with every day for over two decades.
When in practice, I was part of the massive mental health industry and understandably subjected to rules and regulations designed to keep the public safe. However, these same rules and regulations have also stiffled creativity for decades and as a result, treatment for most conditions have changed very little, other than from the introduction of a myriad of new medications which appear regularly courtesy of an equally massive pharma industry.
Throughout my career, I have tried to introduce innovations to the mental health institutions and major charity organizations with little to no success, but now I have retired, I am no longer subject to those rules and regulations and am free to speak out without fear of reprimand, or threat to my right to practice.
This is my journey from first client to retirement - the challenges, emotional highs and lows, mistakes, regrets, and, most importantly, the new discoveries I made - the new revelations referrred to in the title. Here, I am bypassing the entire profession and sharing these directly with you.
