The Letters were first published online in serial form by Biro Berita Monyet Putih, otherwise known as White Monkey News Bureau (2009–2013) and are here compiled in book form. Much of the content is inaccurate because of ignorance or because it's out of date. Some of the greatest howlers have been corrected; others left as testimonies to ignorance and laziness; misspellings have sometimes been corrected, othertimes not, depending on the context; formatting was inconsistent at the time and remains more or less so. It was remembrances of times past at the times it was written and is now best read as a fictional narrator describing fictional people at fictional events in fictional places.
