In 1912, author Edgar Rice Burroughs produced a novel about an aristocratic English couple who become stranded and die in the African wilderness leaving their helpless baby to the elements. Miraculously, the baby is adopted by a gorilla mother and raised as an ape-man, growing up to become a fierce and powerful warrior: Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.

The book became so popular that it spawned twenty-three sequels, a series of films, comic books, and television shows becoming one of the most popular literary franchises in history.

Presented here are the first three novels of the series: Tarzan of the Apes, The Return of Tarzan and The Beasts of Tarzan, each of which follow the titular hero's adventures as he travels from the jungle to the "civilized" world and back again, meeting and falling in love with American explorer Jane Porter (and having a son together), all the while fighting evildoers from around the globe.

One of the greatest adventure series ever written, the three novels in "The Tarzan Collection, Volume I" are presented here in their original and unabridged format.
