"There are literally hundreds of people who are alive in America today because on the worst day they'd ever had, Jim O'Keefe was flying a Coast Guard helicopter and coming to rescue them. Captain Jim O'Keefe, USCG, is an incredible pilot who worked hand in glove with his air crews to save people in distress, many during exceedingly difficult Search and Rescue missions. His 8,000 hours of flight time and two Distinguished Flying Cross medals "...for heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight" attest to his professional prowess. Jim O'Keefe, the man, is the best friend you'll ever have but as irreverent as they come. His ability to find humor in almost any situation is what endears him to all who know him. And that's why he's taken this step of memorializing his recollections of some of the hundreds of funny things that have happened during his illustrious flying career. As we used to say when we were Flight Instructors down at the USCG Aviation Training Center and something funny would happen, "That's going in the book!" I dare you not to laugh out loud.
