MercÈ Rodoreda was born in a small house surrounded by a splendid garden, in the middle of the city of Barcelona. There, among golds of all colors, she found a refuge where she discovered her love for nature, literature and education. However, all roads have thorns, and MercÈ knew very soon that her life would not be a walk among roses. She faced the adversities of loneliness, the experiences of war and a family that did not believe in educating girls. Despite this, she explored the infinite beauty of life and the depths of its of life and the depth of her feelings through literature. She educated herself, studied the dictionary and grammar and became the most influential writer in the Catalan language.
