Throughout our unit on air and water, children learn about the role of air in our environment, the air cycle, wind and the role it plays in our lives, plants and how they help us live, weather vanes, air pollution, the role of water in our environment, the water cycle, evaporation and condensation of water, rain gauges and water pollution. The unit starts off with a set of lesson plans for the teacher. Details are provided for the activities that the children participate in during each lesson. Then, the majority of the lessons center around the provided fact cards and discovery cards. The unit ends with a vocabulary match game and science fair project planning outline that are used during the lessons of the units. This Earth Science lesson provides a teacher and student section with a variety of reading passages, lessons, activities, crossword and word search to create a well-rounded lesson plan.
