The Velvet Comet once the most elegant expensive and luxurious brothel in the galaxy boasting not only the most physically perfect and highly-trained prostitutes of both sexes but a series of 5-star restaurants a casino and an incredibly upscale shopping mall has been decommissioned and in drydock for decades. Now a theatrical company has purchased it and hired Nate Page - who finds he has become a prostitute of a different kind - to write a happy mindless musical about the Comet's heydey. But when he studies the Comet's records and talks to its computer he learns a history that is at odds with everything he's being paid to write and he is faced with the prostitutes' dilemma: just how much of his soul is he willing to sell and what will he charge for it?
