Nick Dennison, a prominent attorney and no nonsense kind of guy with little time for anything but his career, stumbles upon a five year old girl in an alley. It's a cold, snowy January night and the child doesn't even have a coat. Suddenly, his well-ordered life turns to chaos, especially when he discovers her unconscious mother.

Nick discovers his long time beliefs, on a number of subjects, will need to change if he has any hope of helping mother and daughter. Maybe he wants more than just to help them...maybe he wants a lifetime together.
